About this aircraft
This 1946 Piper PA-12 Super Cruiser has been built into a true three-seat backcountry Cub. The engine and airframe were overhauled in 2016, with new paint and fabric at the same time, and it has been flown regularly ever since.
Power comes from a Lycoming O-320 narrow deck with 1,059 hours since major overhaul, swinging a McCauley Borer 82/43 prop. The airframe carries PA-18 gear, controls and tail feathers along with PA-14 flaps, giving it Super Cub handling and short-field performance while keeping the PA-12's roomy three-seat cabin.
It's set up for remote strips, with Aero Classic 31" tires, Atlee Dodge 30-gallon tanks, extended baggage, a split carbon storage compartment under the back seat, and a seaplane door. A new Scott's tailwheel assembly went on in spring 2025, and a new Power Flow exhaust and muffler were installed in July 2026.
At 1,083 lbs empty and 1,935 lbs gross, it has 852 lbs of useful load. The last annual was completed 03/10/2026, and all paperwork and logbooks since new are included.
